World Autism Day will be recognized on April 2, 2024, in Canada thanks to Senator Jim Munson’s Bill S-206, An Act Respecting World Autism Awareness Day.
ASD is a spectrum disorder, which means it not only manifests itself differently in every individual in whom it appears, but its characteristics will change over the life of each person as well. A child on the autism spectrum will become an adult on the autism spectrum.

Tinker Time is a drop-in time at the Creative Lab devoted specifically for kids to use and play with our maker toys and kits - such as the Ozobots, Dot and Dash, Lego Boost, little bits and snap circuits.
Children under the age of 12 should be supervised by a responsible adult. As the space will have many small pieces, the are is not apporpriate for young children who may put small items in their mouths (ages 4 and under).

In partnership with transit consultant, “Left Turn Right Turn,” the Town of BWG’s Transportation Division is developing a 2031 Transit Plan that will pave the way for the future of BWG Transit.
Left Turn Right Turn will be holding a Public Meeting in the Community Corner of the Leisure Centre (471 West Park Avenue) on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm. With the results captured from surveys, review of transit data and comparison of peer municipalities, several proposed transit servicing and routing options will be shown.
Comments on the proposed routing and service delivery will help to shape the final recommendations for transit growth through 2031.

Reading Buddies is a literacy program for children in grades 1-5 who are having trouble with or not enjoying reading. The children are paired with trained teen volunteers from the community. Focusing on the enjoyment of reading and friendship, the Reading Buddies program works to improve the literacy of reluctant or struggling readers.
Students in Grades 1-5 are invited to apply for their own, personal reading buddy. Applications are available for pickup at the Library and downloadable on our website, and are due by Wednesday, March 27.
Please Note: Submitting an application does not guarantee a space in the program.
Registration is open from Wednesday, March 6 - Wednesday, March 27

Join BWG’s aquatic team from 12:30 to 3:00 pm at the Bradford Lions Aquatic Centre (Leisure Centre) for this complimentary event designed to equip adults and children with lifelong water safety skills.
This educational and interactive community event will ensure local families are prepared for the upcoming summer season. Residents of all ages and swimmers of all skill levels are welcome to participate and learn drowning prevention strategies, proper lifejacket fitting and use, basic self-help skills, and rescue techniques for water emergencies.
