Reading Buddies is a literacy program that pairs children who are having trouble with or not enjoying reading with trained teen volunteers from the community. Focusing on the enjoyment of reading and friendship, it works to improve the literacy of reluctant or struggling readers.
For Kids:
Students in Grades 1-5 are invited to apply for their own, personal reading buddy. Applications are available for pickup at the Library and downloadable on our website, and are due by Wednesday, January 24.
Please Note: Submitting an application does not guarantee a space in the program.
For Teens:
Gain volunteer experience by joining the Reading Buddies program. We meet once a week to read books and play games! Teen volunteer applications will be available for pickup at the Library and downloadable on our website.
