Community Access Networking (CAN) is an initiative established by Council, providing residents the opportunity to join them in a relaxed, friendly, and informal environment; and ask questions, raise issues, and share ideas.
Each CAN meeting will be hosted by Mayor James Leduc, Deputy Mayor Raj Sandu, and a different ward Councillor every month (1 through 7). Although the events have been designed to highlight one ward per meeting, all residents are welcome to attend any meeting date of their choosing.

Reading Buddies is a literacy program that pairs children who are having trouble with or not enjoying reading with trained teen volunteers from the community. Focusing on the enjoyment of reading and friendship, it works to improve the literacy of reluctant or struggling readers.

Students in Grades 1-5 are invited to apply for their own, personal reading buddy. Applications are available for pickup at the Library and downloadable on our website, and are due by Wednesday, January 24.

The Footcare bus comes to BWG, to provide access to high-quality foot care for people living with diabetes to prevent serious complications that could include infections or even limb amputation.
Please note: the mobile clinic is only for individuals with diabetes who have been referred by a diabetes clinic at their local partner hospital, family health team or community health centre. By appointment only.

Tinker Time is a drop-in time at the Creative Lab devoted specifically for kids to use and play with our maker toys and kits - such as the Ozobots, Dot and Dash, Lego Boost, little bits and snap circuits.
Children under the age of 12 should be supervised by a responsible adult. As the space will have many small pieces, the are is not apporpriate for young children who may put small items in their mouths (ages 4 and under).
