Fire Prevention Week is observed each year during the week of October 9th in commemoration of the Great Chicago Fire, which began on October 8, 1871, and caused devastating damage, killing more than 250 people, leaving 100,000 homeless, and burning more than 2,000 acres of land.

October is recognized worldwide, across Canada, and within our province as Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness month.
October 15 is observed with remembrance ceremonies, candlelight vigils and the International Wave of Light where communities across the globe illuminate landmarks, bridges and buildings in pink, blue and purple and where candles are lit at 7 pm to create a wave of light with the different time zones.

Meet your Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and Ward 7 Councillor Dykie at an upcoming CAN Meeting.
Community Access Networking (CAN) is an initiative established by Council, providing residents the opportunity to join them in a relaxed, friendly, and informal environment; and ask questions, raise issues, and share ideas.
Each CAN meeting will be hosted by Mayor James Leduc, Deputy Mayor Raj Sandu, and Ward 7 Councillor Peter Dykie. Although the events have been designed to highlight one ward per meeting, all residents are welcome to attend any meeting date of their choosing.
Join us at an upcoming CAN meeting:

- Ask questions, share ideas, and more!
Registration is not required to attend these events; they are open-house/drop-in style.

BWG's greatest holiday tradition brings friends and families together as local businesses, service groups, clubs, entertainers and more bring the holiday spirit to life. The parade attracts thousands of spectators each year to enjoy the show under the stars. The parade features numerous diverse floats from the community beginning at Bradford High School and travelling east on Holland Street, finishing at the Bradford & District Memorial Community Centre.
