WHEREAS: Mental health is an essential part of overall well-being, and yet many will not receive the help they need; and
WHEREAS: Early intervention, accessible care, and community awareness are critical in supporting young people, their families, and caregivers with their mental wellness; and
WHEREAS: Children’s Mental Health Week is a time to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and highlight the importance of providing timely, fully funded, inclusive, and accredited mental health services for children and youth across our communities; and
WHEREAS: New Path Youth and Family Services as the Lead Agency for Child and Youth Mental Health in Simcoe County is celebrating its 25th anniversary supporting hope, growth, and transformation for children and youth, their families and caregivers in our community; and
WHEREAS: The colour green symbolizes hope, growth, and transformation, and is worn throughout the week to show support for children and youth navigating their mental well-being.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That His Worship Mayor James Leduc and Members of Council proclaim May 5-11, 2025 as Children’s Mental Health Week in the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury.
