Event Overview
From Epilepsy York Region (EYR): March is National Epil­­epsy Awareness Month and is also the time when we celebrate Purple Day, on March 26^th. This day has been marked internationally to raise awareness, dispel myths association with this disease, and to increase education. Currently, in York Region alone, there is estimated to be 11,000 individuals with epilepsy. This breaks down to 1 in every 100 people in our catchment area.
