Event Overview The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, also known as Orange Shirt Day is observed annually on September 30th, to educate and remind Canadians about the history of Residential Schools. On this day we memorialize the children lost to the residential school system and honour Survivors, their families, and their communities.
Attendees are invited to enjoy the areas of reflection that will surround the flag raising ceremony area and interact with the Bradford Bulldogs and Central York Panthers hockey teams who will be in site in orange Jerseys.
An information table and colouring sheets for youth will be set up, donations can be made to the Orange Shirt Society on site for those who would like to contribute.
